Carolina Gold: No Competitive Corps In 2007

| |

Carolina Gold All-Age Drum and Bugle Corps, DCA Finalist in 2005 and 2006, and DCI-Atlantic Affiliate Member will not be fielding a competitive corps in 2007.

In our short history, Carolina Gold has made tremendous strides. Gold began as a mini-corps in 2001, in 2002 Gold competed in DCA Class A, then in 2003 Gold moved into DCA Open Class and earned finalist status in 2005 and 2006. With our competitive schedule being our primary focus, Gold hasn’t been able to create and develop strong relationships with the city, county and state we represent. Carolina Gold needs to be more proactive and involved with all of these communities in order to gain strong support both financially and physically.

For 2007, Carolina Gold plans to perform in exhibitions, standstill performances, and parades for more visual exposure. The administration, staff, and members will be taking this year to build a stronger infrastructure that will bring Carolina Gold back to the field in 2008. Please check our website www.carolinagold.org frequently for updated information regarding Carolina Gold.

Carolina Gold looks forward to seeing our fellow DCA and DCI-Atlantic corps on the field in 2007 and more importantly…we are focused and determined to be back on the competitive field with everyone in 2008.
