North Coast Rock/Capital Regiment Agreement

The North Coast Rock Drum and Bugle Corps of Cleveland, Ohio, and the Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Columbus, Ohio announce they have reached a mutual assistance agreement for the 2007 season.

The Capital Regiment announced earlier this fall that they would go inactive for the 2007 season to regroup. As such, the Capital Regiment will provide their B Flat bugles and additional equipment to the North Coast Rock for it’s 2007 Drum Corps Associates season.

“The agreement with Capital Regiment provides us with the latest brass equipment that will further our development as we enter our first season of competition”, says North Coast Rock Executive Director Tom MaKinster.

As part of the agreement, the North Coast Rock continues to be a staunch supporter of the DCI activity. “Our by-laws and standard operating procedures were written to offer to DCI corps a venue to help with the development of young students for future membership. We strongly encourage members that fall within the age limits and capability to march DCI to do so.”

Rick Bays of the Capital Regiment feels “Helping an all-age corps from our state is a win-win opportunity for both corps.”

The first rehearsal of the North Coast Rock will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Kent Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio. Please log onto our website at www.northcoastrock.org for information.

Founded in Cleveland in July of 2004, the North Coast Rock plans to take the field for competition in the Drum Corps Associates circuit for the first time in 2007.
