The Inbhear Mor Marchers are a 45 piece marching show band from Arklow, Coounty Wicklow in the Republic of Ireland. The band is delighted to announce that they will embark on a 12 day tour of the USA & Canada in August. The Inbhear Mór Marchers were originally established in 1992 in the southeast coastal town of Arklow, County Wicklow. The band made their first competitive appearance in 1994. Throughout the 90’s, the band enjoyed great success on the Irish and International band scenes.

This generation of Inbhear Mór Marchers were established in 2002 and over the past 7 years the band has enjoyed great success taking part in major competitive and festival events throughout Ireland & Europe. Recently the band had the honour of representing Ireland in the Disney Parade at the Disneyland Resort in Paris.

2007 marked the 15th Birthday of the Inbhear Mór Marchers and it also proved to be the bands most successful season in their history. Throughout 2007, the band completed a full, undefeated season in the International Marching Band Association’s Division II Class, winning both the All Ireland Parade Championships & the All Ireland (Field Show) Championships. Following on this success the band then became the first Irish band ever to perform at the DCE (Drum Corps Europe) Championships in Rotterdam, Holland. After winning the Irish Championships in both 2007 & 2008, the band was honored to be promoted to Open Class for the 2009 season.

This is the bands first ever visit to the USA & Canada and they are extremely grateful for the opportunity to perform at upcoming Drum Corps Associates shows in Toms River, NJ sponsored by The Harrison Bushwackers & Norwich, NY sponsored by The Brigadiers of Central New York. This tour will also see the band touring throughout New York, New Jersey and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Under the Directorship of Mary Kirwan and Music & Show Director Óisin Molloy, the staff and members of the band would like to express warm thanks to Drum Corps Associate’s President, Gil Silva, Bushwacker’s Director, Jay Morlot and Brigadier’s Director, Rick Martin for making these appearances possible and a special thanks to Tom Peashey of DCA’s Staff for his very generous help and support in preparing for this tour.

The bands 2009 field production is entitled “CELTIC THUNDER” and features a selection of Irish ballads and dance music including “Riverdance, Danny Boy, The Lord of the Dance & An Irish Party in 3rd Class”.

The band is delighted to have the opportunity to perform their Irish music in the USA & Canada this summer and they hope that all audiences will enjoy their performances.
