The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps said farewell to 28 members at its annual season-ending awards banquet in Indianapolis 10 days ago.
Among them was two-year drum major Corey Moore.
At the event, corps director Fred Morris instituted a new tradition, a “passing of the saber,” so that the Troopers were not without drum major leadership for even a minute.

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday 24th August, the Kidsgrove Scouts set off on their trip across the Atlantic to compete in the Drum Corps Associates World Championships in Rochester, New York.

Rock out to the sweet sounds of the summer on your computer, iPod or other portable audio device with these MP3 files recorded live at the Open Class Quarterfinals on Aug. 10 in Michigan City, Ind. and Aug. 12 during the World Class Quarterfinals at Lucas Oil Stadium.
You can buy individual tracks of each corps, or buy each event as a bundle to save more than half the cost of purchasing separately. And don't forget that APDs from eight other 2010 events also are available on the Fan Network giving you an audio time line of corps performances as groups changed and improved their productions all summer long.

The 21st Annual Carolina Crown Age-out and Awards Banquet was held Sunday, August 15th, at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Indianapolis as the finale to a terrific DCI Championships week. The event was attended by a record 385 members, parents and “Team Crown” members.
A number of anniversaries were recognized to start the day’s festivities including:
5-Year Member – Greg Davis, Brent McLester, Jonathan Morgan, Eric Vanderlaan, Herbert Washington, Dana Williams, and Jeff Williams.

The Madison Scouts ended their 2010 season with a 10th place finish at the DCI World Championships on Saturday, August 14th. Donning the white neckerchiefs of yesteryear and being announced as the “Madison Explorer Scouts”, the corps paid tribute to those alumni who marched before them. The corps was clearly a crowd favorite, receiving several standing ovations throughout the show.
The evening was highlighted by two other significant awards. At the start of the show, Corps Director Dann Petersen was announced as the winner of the “Dr. Bernard Baggs Award for Outstanding Leadership” given to the World Class Director of the Year. At the retreat ceremony, drum major John Lee was awarded the “Jim Jones Leadership Award“.
