Producing DCA’s annual Championship Guide & Yearbook must have been a continuing challenge for whoever held this position before. My predecessor, Tom Peashey, warned me about this project, but I already knew what he meant. I had done this twice before, although many years ago. |

It has been somewhat difficult to find time to write in the past two weeks. Beginning on June 19th, we have been constantly rehearsing to improve our show. It began with a rained-out show day in Sevierville, TN. We had to rehearse inside all day because it was pouring outside. We ended up doing a standstill that night, but it was nevertheless full of energy, especially our encore. That night I saw a friend from Cavaliers and we headed to Indiana. |

Our man out there on the streets, living the drum corps life, as we all wish we could, has found his way to California! Cozy Baker, a transplanted Southerner (ya'all know what I mean) has filed his latest report on how DCA 2006 is moving along. Gotta love this guy's experience! I sit home at my computer, pulling together the next DCA yearbook, and this fellow is living the dream. I'm jealous! |

All-Age drum corps news is popping-up all over as we reach the first day of Summer. By now, most of our activity’s players have donned uniforms and made their first public appearance. Questions are beginning to have answers, predictions gain some foundation, and the number of active viewers of Drum Corps Planet soars to record height.
Drum corps fans of all levels awake each morning, check the ‘net for news and opinion. It builds enthusiasm for our own first live viewing of the new season. For performers, DCP is the place to be for validation that hundreds of difficult hours of preparation did result in a display worthy of mostly positive reviews. We require much more than scores alone.
