Under a cool autumn sky, over 80 brass musicians attended the Fall Marching Brass Clinic hosted by the Mandarins at McClatchy HS in Sacramento. Eager and focused, the musicians were introduced many aspects of outdoor brass playing like breathing, posture and projection. Conducted by brass caption head Dan Fong and his staff of Jim Tabuchi, Mikey Yee and Milt Gee, the students played through a series of technical exercises as well as powerful rendition of "Shaker Melody."

Colorado Bandmasters State Championships -Division 4A/5A Championships, October 21, Fort Collins, CO 8:30AM - 10:30PM -Division 1A/2A/3A Championships, October 23, Pueblo, CO 8:30AM - 8:00PM

With the 2007 drum corps season just around the corner, Capital Sound announces an open call for staff in all captions to be a part of the Division 3 corps from Wisconsin. Under the leadership of new corps director, Marc Gofstein, the corps is looking for the best and brightest to work with a talented group of kids.
“I want to give our kids some of the best instruction in the activity,” says Gofstein. “We might be a Division 3 corps, but there is no reason why our kids can’t have D-I instruction.” |
