Troopers March Toward 2007 Competition Print

The Casper-based Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps crossed a big line last month on its road toward competing nationwide again with other corps, its director said Tuesday.

Mike Ottoes met with the executive committee of Drum Corps International in Dayton, Ohio, where he and others outlined the progress the organization has made since its ejection last fall.

"The executive committee has given a vote of confidence for full participation as a Division I touring drum corps for the 2007 season," Ottoes said.

The Santa Clara Vanguard is pleased to announce the appointment of Lesa Barker to the position of Business Development Manager. Lesa will focus on the development of strategic business alliances, charitable funding sources and mainstream public exposure for the Santa Clara Vanguard organization.

Ms. Barker has a successful history of fundraising both for the private as well as performing arts sectors. She has developed relationships with professional sporting groups such as the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants as well as the San Jose SabreCats.
