Joanie Doebler long time supporter and parent of The Blue Devils passed away on Monday, June 12, 2006. Mrs. Doebler lost a long battle with lung disease . She passed peaceful with her husband Dale and daughters Lee Ann and Beth at her side. The Blue Devils heartfelt condolences, prayers and thoughts go out to Mr. Dale Doebler, Lee, Beth and the entire Doebler family.
We will post information about the memorial service soon.

Drum Corps International is pleased to introduce a new format and schedule for the Field Pass with DCI's Dan Potter. Each Monday, the Field Pass will be available to everyone on DCI.org for free! Pat Seidling was dealing with a reporter who didn’t know much about drum and bugle corps, other than, well, they have drums and horns.
So he tried some sports analogies.
“This is our Stanley Cup,” he said, pointing to the trophy in a glass case that the Phantom Regiment won in 1996 at the “Super Bowl” of marching music.

If things go according to Gary Groubert's plans, the county should have a highly-trained corp of drum-beating, horn-blowing, synchronized-marching youth by the summer of 2008.
Groubert is attempting to assemble a countywide, competition-level drum and bugle corp that can participate in both competitions and local parades.
Drum Corps International, a major drum and bugle corp competition group, allows competitors up to the age of 22, he said, and because he expects it to take at least two years to reach competition level, Groubert said he is currently recruiting members in the 14 to 20 age range.
