Blue Water Area music fans were treated once again to the thunder of drums ricocheting across Memorial Stadium in Port Huron.
They came to see some of the best drum and bugle corps in the nation perform Tuesday at the 28th annual Blue Water Brass show. They weren't disappointed.

Each year Yamato members from Japan forego school, work and daily life in Japan to come to the United States to live, rehearse and perform with our corps. This year, escorted by veteran member Eddie Bryan, a member of the bass line and front ensemble plus a veteran who came to be on support staff take a day off and enjoy the sights and sounds at Disneyland plus a photo op with Mickey! Next stop, Magic Mountain!

A volunteer entrusted with running a non-profit's $1 million fundraising program will appear in court next month on charges she embezzled more than $50,000.
Charlotte M. Luciani of San Jose volunteered with Santa Clara Vanguard, a non-profit youth music organization, for 20 years and managed the group's lucrative four-times-a-week bingo fundraisers for the past 10 years, according to court records.

To cap off a successful event on June 22, including an afternoon stand-still concert by Blue Stars at the Holland Performing Arts Center, home of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, the Omaha Summer Music Games DCI event had a visit from Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and his wife Sally Ganem. Governor Heineman assisted in presenting awards, including a gold medal to the Cavaliers who won the event.
