The 32nd annual Music On Parade on June 24th at MacDonald Stadium in Malden will be the kick off of the 2006 season for the East Coast Jazz. The Malden corps will be defending its Drum Corps International Division II world title. Be there to watch as the Spartans and The East Coast Jazz continue their rivalry for the world championship. You'll also see the defending DCI Division III world champion Raiders of New Jersey. The fun night of entertainment begins at 7:00 PM on June 24th. Only a few nights away. Don't miss the first public performance of the 2006 season, where Revolution Drum & Bugle Corps will perform at the 2nd Annual Texas Drum Corps Preview in Austin, Texas on June 24, 2006.
The show will also feature: Trinity from Seguin, TX, Gulf Coast Sound from Houston, TX, and Frontier from Dallas, TX.
The location of the performance is on the south steps of the Texas State Capitol building on Congress Avenue and 11th Street in Austin, Texas.
Each unit will perform music from their 2006 competitive programs. For the finale of the show, all of the drum corps hornlines will join together to play "Texas, Our Texas" and "America The Beautiful". |

Several hundred people came out Thursday night to see the La Crosse Blue Stars perform for 10 minutes at Memorial Field.
With the La Crosse corps returning to Division I, many people were curious and wanted to see what a big corps looks and sounds like again.
Many wanted to know if the Blue Stars have the right stuff for Division I.
It didn’t take long to convince the crowd, which gave the Blue Stars a standing ovation.

Season Pass members were treated to a surprise look at live streaming video and audio of corps performances during the DCI Father’s Day Kickoff from Lisle, Ill., on Sunday, June 18. Members had the opportunity to see a press box shot of the six performing groups, in addition to the scores announcement and the awards ceremony performance of “Champions Fanfare.”
“The live streaming concept is one that we are ramping up to for later events this summer. This was just a beta test that we used to get our feet wet with this project and one that we are getting excited to provide in addition to all of the other content we offer as part of our major event coverage,” said Ricky Fritzsching, DCI’s senior Web producer. "This experiment gave us the opportunity to test our technological limitations as we push forward into the season."

She doesn't wear gaudy ribbons or hats stenciled with her daughter's name like some of the others. She doesn't wear oversized T-shirts adorned with a chest-sized screening of her daughter's photo.
But make no mistake; Roxanne Speer is a drum corps mom.
Roxanne's daughter, Jessica, plays timpani for the Phantom Regiment, the drum corps ranked third world class for Drum Corps International. The organization, which comprises 25 corps of up to 135 14- to 22-year-olds each, rarely is affiliated with schools or universities - so think of it as the Olympics of drum and brass competition.
