The Blue Devils in association with Dynasty USA and Don Wilson Music will present a clinic in all four major captions: brass, Percussion, color Guard and Visual as well as showing the full ensemble conducted by the Blue Devils staff and members. The clinic will conclude with a performance of the 2006 show: The Godfather, Part BLUE
The clinic will be held Monday, July 17th, 2006 from 130PM until 4PM at Louisville Christian Academy. Admission will be free. This is a great opportunity for band directors, students and staff to get motivated for the 2006 marching season. Some of the best young musicians in the United States will gather in Ankeny next week for a prestigious drum and bugle corps competition.
The 24th annual Celebration in Brass, presented by the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ankeny High School stadium. Bev Albaugh of the chamber said six drum and bugle corps will participate this year.

The Cavaliers’ color guard members suited up in their 2006 uniforms for the first time on Tuesday evening as they prepared for their first official performance on Friday, June 16, in Oswego, Ill.
"Our 2006 guard costumes are designed by Michael Cesario and manufactured by Fred J. Miller. They are an obvious visual representation of an aspect of our 2006 'MACHINE' program,” said the Cavaliers’ corps director Jeff Fiedler. “The commentary from staff and members who have seen it have been very much in line with where we're going relative to futuristic machines, processes and robotics, as well as some of the parallel comparisons to current film and television adaptations. It will be one of the most dramatic, sophisticated and distinct costumes on the field in 2006.”

Drum Corps International is pleased to announce its premiere edition of "The Beat," a brand new video magazine offered as part of the DCI Season Pass. "The Beat" gives you, the drum corps fan, exclusive inside access and behind-the-scenes insider information from every aspect of the Summer Music Games Tour.
Hosted by veteran broadcast personality Steve Rondinaro, the show will be produced this season from four locations: Indianapolis, Ind., on July 8; San Antonio, Texas, on July 22; and Atlanta, Ga., on July 29. There will also be exclusive updates from Madison, Wisc., all week long during the week of the World Championships.

The town of Russell Springs, Ky., honored its newest celebrity on Saturday, June 10. Tara Elizabeth Conner, recently crowned Miss USA at the annual pageant, was honored with a parade through downtown Russell Springs featuring the Southwind percussion section. This was the first opportunity Conner has had to visit her home town since being crowned Miss USA 2006 on April 27 in Baltimore, Md. Conner is the first Miss Kentucky contestant to be crowned Miss USA in the 51-year history of the pageant. She will soon begin preparing for the Miss Universe pageant, to be held July 23 in Los Angeles, Calif.
