Casper, WY, April 12, 2006 - Following a meeting with Drum Corps International's Executive Committee on April 7, 2006, the Troopers have been preliminarily approved to rejoin the ranks of DCI in full division I competition for the 2007 competitive season. Final approval is expected later this year when the full DCI board meets to vote on the matter.
DCI Executive Committee members praised Troopers Executive Director Mike Ottoes for the diligent work and appropriate steps taken over the last seven months to rectify the issues which caused the corps’ removal from DCI competition for the 2006 season. Mr. Ottoes confirmed that all appropriate tax filings have been submitted to the Internal Revenue Service and the organization continues to follow-up with the IRS to ensure full compliance. Additionally, the Troopers Board of Directors has formulated a thorough business development plan and has also made strides to pay down the remaining debt. |
