It's official. Tiger Woods will not be participating in the 2008 Vanguard Golf Outing at Spring Valley Golf Course in Milpitas on Monday afternoon, July 7. So that means there's still room for YOU to come on out and play!!!
SCV will be holding their 2nd annual golf tournament to benefit our winter guard on Monday, July 7 - TWO DAYS AFTER STANFORD!!! This will be a great way to spend the afternoon in Milpitas, CA with family, friends, alumni - PLENTY OF OTHER CORPS' ALUMNI - and parents. You can trade Mulligans, foot taps and laughs with our new CEO Jeff Fiedler and our Board Chairman Marc Hebert. Visit the Golf Classic website for more information. Lauren Hutson struck the bars on the marimba with a soft mallet. With each tap, the xylophone-like instrument produced a soft, rich sound that filled the room.
As Lauren, 16, of Moreno Valley practiced in Valley View High School's music room in Moreno Valley, cymbal players Travis Beaman, 16, of Moreno Valley, and Jeff Hangebrauk, 18, of Temecula, rehearsed outdoors in the school's commons area.

In 1990, Harry and Elaine Glinn, managers of the Corps, wanted to retire, so they called on all their former students who had marched together in the late 1970s and early 1980s for help. Fourteen alumni agreed to participate, and Donna Monte volunteered her time to take over as director.
“Harry and Elaine taught us how to run the drum Corps, fundraise, run Bingo, maintain trucks, and how to move the kids from state to state,” she said. “You’re so committed to this activity and your friends, and when you’re 15 or 16 years old, it’s a great experience. It taught me a lot of life lessons.”

Stroudsburg High School student Erica Bower and East Stroudsburg University students Ryan Bratt and Ashlie Grimes all woke up today at 7 a.m.
Voluntarily.
And they will continue to do so for most of their summer vacation.
