The La Crosse Blue Stars believe this can be the year they return to the top 12 finalist ranks of Drum Corps International.
And so did the crowd at Onalaska High School’s football stadium after seeing a preview of the corps’ 2008 show. The crowd saw a spectacular visual show, with several wow moments and marvelous musicianship.
The show, “Le Tour: Every Second Counts,” is based on the Tour de France bicycle race, featuring original music mixed with famous melodies by French composers.

Although Memorial Stadium was recently damaged by severe weather, Drum Corps International’s World Championship, starting Aug. 7, is still a go, according to the DCI Web site.
DCI holds competitions for the best amateur drum corps – comprised of brass, percussion and color guard sections – across the country. The organization recently signed a 10-year contract with Indianapolis to hold the championships at the city’s Lucas Oil Stadium, said DCI Development and Media Coordinator Diane Peasel. But Bloomington came in as a back-up location when officials realized construction on Lucas Oil Stadium would not be done in time, she said.

You’ve seen them in the parking lots at shows, heard the rumbling of their engines and smelled the diesel fumes. The coach bus is the backbone of the touring drum corps and home to dozens of young men and women for the seven-week DCI Summer Tour. And if you thought only the corps members had the chance to ride one of these beautiful machines to the 2008 World Championships in Bloomington, Ind., think again!
Fans heading to the 2008 Drum Corps International World Championships in Indiana will be glad to know that DCI is ready to get you on board its complimentary shuttle service to and from Indianapolis for all Championship events in Bloomington!

Only 17 days remain until the Cadets Alumni Association welcomes alumni from across the years to Clifton, N.J., for the 2nd Annual Cadets Alumni Gathering!
The RSVPS have been steadily streaming in for the July 5th reunion as more than 100 former Cadets, their friends and family have made plans to witness the induction of the 2008 Class of the Cadets Hall of Fame and pay tribute to the 1983 corps as they celebrate the 25th Anniversary of winning the corps' first DCI World Championship.
