The Hurricanes had a great camp weekend which ended with a full run through performance of this year's show Journey West.
This weekend also saw the addition of Kevin Lowery to the brass staff. Kevin is currently the brass caption head at Norwalk High School and previously has taught with the Cavaliers and the Crossmen.
Jonathan Schwartz was in town to work with the color guard. Jonathan had been the caption head for the Cadets color guard up until last year. |

DCA has authorized its first ever regular season class A contest. In the past, Class A (65 or fewer performers not counting drum majors and color party) was an opportunity only offered at the DCA Championships. The Brigadiers will be presenting the August 2nd Pageant of Drums show at Waterloo, NY High School stadium. The show will start at 7PM and feature the first ever Class A regional competition. Class A will have its own 1st through 3rd awards. This is a further reflection of the growth of the Class A activity for 2008. There will be a record 16 Class A corps in the DCA Preliminary Championship at Paetec Park in Rochester, NY on August 30 and the 4 highest scoring of these 16 will compete on Sunday evening for the DCA Class A Championship. |

DCA has been informed by the contest sponsor that due to loss of the stadium and inability to locate a suitable replacement location, the July 12th contest scheduled for Buffalo, NY has been cancelled. Due to the late date of the cancellation, it will not be replaced. DCA and the Syracuse Brigadiers sends it's regrets to all of our fans in the area, but this seemed to be the only possible decision.
We encourage those in the region to consider attending the July 5th show in Rochester at St. John Fisher College and the Brigadier's August 2nd Pageant of Drums which is being moved from North Syracuse to Waterloo, NY. Details on the new location will be released soon. Also, the Brigadiers are pleased to announce the addition of Carolina Gold to the August 2nd line up. |
