Drum Corps Europe has revealed the date for the DCE Championships in 2007. Next year, the European Championships will be held on Saturday, September 29th.
Every year, the DCE Championships are held on the last Saturday of September. This year is an exception, because the DCUK Championships are to be held in the weekend of September 30th and October 1st. With so many Championship events in September, it's important to avoid a clash of dates with other drum corps organisations in Europe.

The Field Band Foundation and Jazz at Lincoln Center just completed an exchange programme generously sponsored by the US Department of State Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. The exchange programme focused on exchange of music, culture and using music as a medium for raising awareness around HIV prevention and education. The Septet from JALC led by Wycliffe Gordon performed in Durban, Soweto, Pretoria and Cape Town. The Septet held workshops for our band members and taught them about New Orleans style jazz and the deep traditions from which this early style of jazz developed. The performances were packed and the highlight was when our members took the stage with this world-class band to perform!

Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps has topped the Open Class of the first Drum Corps Netherlands contest, last night in Dordrecht. The corps scored 63.6 points, followed by Juliana from Middelburg (56.75) and Northern Star from Leeds (51.75, 6.2 penalties).
It was a rainy day in Dordrecht, which resulted in a slippery field. Definitely not the perfect circumstances to perform a drum corps show, but the corps managed to present very promising products at this early time of the season.
