Current and prospective leaders representing the whole activity are coming together on Saturday January 26th in Leicester to join in a Conference titled 'Marching Towards the Olympics'
Organised by the Federation, the agenda already boasts keynote speeches from Youth Music's No.2 DAVID SULKIN, and MICHAEL McKEEVER the Head teacher of Trinity School in Nottingham. The Cultural Olympiad team are still being appointed, and the Federation will know during December who they are sending to address the conference. The Cultural Olympiad team has the task of guiding and promoting the 'marriage' between sport and the arts at local, regional and national levels, in the four years leading up to the 2012 Olympics. |

'Young Musicians Guide to Rock' is the name of the 2008 production that Black Knights Senior Corps are proud to announce. A show that will be 'in ya face' from the very start incorporating some of the very best rock music there is. The show will be another original exciting BK production.
The Black Knights are very glad to be putting 'everyday' music on the drum corps field. The theme promises to have your head banging to the drumbeats and face-melting guitar riffs from music that has stood the test of time for decades up until the most recent releases.

Two of Europe's leading National Drum Corps organisations are pleased to announce that they have agreed to embrace the recently announced Drum Corps Europe Certified Partnership scheme.
Drum Corps Netherlands (DCN) and Drum Corps United Kingdom (DCUK) have formally adopted the working framework of certified partnership status with Drum Corps Europe (DCE) and as such both organisations are looking forward to working closely together, and with DCE, with the goal of standardising many elements of the Drum Corps activity throughout Europe. |

Drum Corps Europe has appointed Tony Mackenzie-Jones as the DCE Adjudication Manager. Tony will coordinate all judging matters as part of the DCE management team.
Tony's first active involvement in marching music was marching in a scout band. After serving in the army (being involved in a pipe and brass band) he studied for A levels and diplomas at night school, to achieve the qualification to enter University to obtain a degree in commercial and dramatic art in 1967. He continued to study to obtain his teaching certificate at teacher training college in Bristol in 1969. |

Southern Aurora and Legion Star from Brighton and Crawley in Sussex are pleased to announce that they will be performing 'The Southern Express' as their 2008 Summer Season production.
Based on music from the Polar Express, The 2008 production will take the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotions, and mood changes, from the dark moods of loneliness to the elation of feeling on top of the world. Southern Aurora and Legion Star will look to cover new ground within this production, and bring the 'wow' factor that will captivate the audience.
