Today, the registration period for the DCE European Championships 2008 has begun. Corps will be able to register during the whole of November. The participants list will be published mid-December.
Like last year, criteria will be used for selection. If, by the end of the month, there are still places available, the registration deadline will be extended until the event is full. The Drum Corps Europe management team hopes that the 2008 edition will again be a fantastic drum corps event. A final decision on the location for the DCE Championships 2008 has not yet been made, but Drum Corps Europe hopes to announce it shortly.

After three years of running without a corps director Black Knights are pleased to announce that the Directorship of the corps was offered to, and accepted by, Ken Mansfield.
Ken has been part of the marching band and drum corps scene since he joined Thurrock drum and trumpet corps in October 1973. Ken, well known for his role within the Academy colourguard, has been registered with a marching organisation every year since that first one in ‘73.

Indoor Percussion Europe is a new European based organisation, started by a group of percussion instructors, arrangers, judges and educators who are concerned about the level of percussion training and performance, primarily in Belgium, France, the UK and The Netherlands. The first IPE will be the IPE Championships on 29th March 2008, featuring two US indoor percussion performances. "We believe that indoor percussion isn't just about organising indoor percussion events", says Indoor Percussion Europe in a press release. "Our goal is to encourage indoor percussion units to perform and entertain at our events that really fit their specific needs and demands.

Fresh on the back of their Junior Division Championship Winning performance, the Marxmen have had unprecedented success in bringing the media up to speed with what the young people within this great activity of ours can really achieve. The recent BBC News 24 airing has also now lead to some localized publicity for the Band in addition.
Topping all of that, however, is the demonstration by the Marxmen and Equinox to embrace each other in the true spirit of all that we hold dear within the British Youth Band Association and invitations by both Bands have been issued and accepted for each to attend and perform at their respective Presentation evenings. |

The Centurion Show Band is pleased to announce that in 2008 they will be undertaking a full competitive season, attending a large proportion of BYBA shows. The band held their first rehearsal back on Sunday 21st October which was also an Open Rehearsal for anyone interested in taking up membership, which resulted in 7 new members of the wind and tuned percussion section being recruited. |
