All European organisations active in the drum corps activity have asked Rob van Koningshoven to consider a name change of his organisation DCEE (Drum Corps Events Europe). The European allies are worried that the name could cause confusion inside and outside Europe.

Marcel Matthijsse, the chairman of Drum Corps Europe, was astonished when he heard about the name change. "They could have been more creative. Two foundations with the same area of work, similar names and almost identical abbreviations though with different objectives, working procedures and interests. It will be very hard to explain this to an outsider."
