New Column to debut - "Company Front" Print
Written by John Donovan, DCP Publisher
Monday, 10 September 2007
I'm excited to announce a new feature column on Drum Corps Planet - entitled "Company Front". As a regular series, the column will offer our readers insight into the marching arts from the perspectives of 4 different authors, in rotation.

Gregory "GM" Kuzma - author of "On the field from Denver, Colorado ... The Blue Knights", will provide an administrator's perspective on the marching arts activity, as a former corps director for "Revolution" and Tour Manager for Blue Knights. He'll also interview other drum corps managers and leaders for their opinions and insight on the marching arts.

Jeremy "Spike" Van Wert - author of "Not for the Faint of Heart: My journey into manhood in the Santa Clara Vanguard" will explore the psychological experience of growth in drum corps and its lasting influence on the lives of its competitors.

Courtney Brandt - author of "The Line" will offer insight into the personal stories of the individuals involved in the marching arts activity, from various walks-of-life and backgrounds.

Colt Foutz - author of "Building the Green Machine" will offer comment on recent trends in drum corps as seen through the prism of drum corps history, whether its the kind of music a corps is playing, challenges in leadership and organization or what kids do to pass the time on the bus these days.

Stay tuned for the initial installment of Company Front in mid-September.
