Carrie Fox, 23, of Nashville, has been appointed as the new Assistant Drum Major of Music City Legend Drum and Bugle Corps. She is a 2001 graduate of McGavock High School and a 2005 alumna of O’More College of Design with a degree in Visual Communications. A graphic artist, she is married to Stephen, her husband of 2 years.

She succeeds Deonté Warren, 17, also of Nashville, who will graduate from McGavock in May and is leaving the corps to devote more time to school commitments and to prepare for college. The announcement was made by MCL Program Coordinator Jim Reed.

She served three years as McGavock band’s Field Commander. She plays trombone and has performed both in jazz band and the winter colorguard. Executive Director Scott Rhodes noted that, “We are pleased to have drawn so many graduates from the McGavock music program since the corps was founded in 2003. Carrie is a welcome addition to the corps’ leadership team.”

Fox will share podium time during the corps’ 10-1/2 minute competitive performance with Matthew Dudek, of Chattanooga, the unit’s lead drum major. As Dudek’s assistant, she will also fill other positions of responsibility within the corps to prepare for rehearsals and performances.
