Written by Dennis Naaktgeborenm, PR Manager, Drum Corps Europe
Sunday, 16 December 2007

Drum Corps Europe is pleased to announce the participating corps of the DCE Championships 2008. Please mark Saturday 27th September in your diaries, as it promises to be yet another sizzling European Championship!

All the top corps of the last DCE Championships will be taking part. The entire top ten of the Open Class and the top three of the Cadet Class, who automatically earned their places thanks to last year's results, will be entering the European Championships again. There will also be a variety of exciting newcomers. Those making their debut appearance in the Open Class include Vlamo champion Calypso (Belgium), Southern Aurora (UK), Blue Lions (France) and the Blue Bandits (Germany). Johan Friso (the Netherlands) will be returning to the Cadet Class after an absence.

Just like last year, 22 corps will appear at the DCE Championships. Due to the discontinuance of the Percussion Class, there will be two extra corps in the Open Class and one extra corps in the Cadet Class. The UK will be represented by no less than eight corps in the Open Class, with the Netherlands following with four participants. Three German corps will be taking part and one each from Belgium, France and Italy.
