Music City Legend Announces 2008 Program |

 Music City Legend Drum and Bugle Corps, Tennessee’s first and largest “all-age” drum and bugle corps, is pleased to announce its 2008 repertoire. The Nashville-based corps completed its most successful season ever in 2007 with an 11th place performance in Open Class at the DCA World Championship, held in Rochester, New York, this past Labor Day weekend, achieving its highest score and placement at that event since advancing to field competition in 2005.
Returning to the corps as Program Director for 2008, Joe Murphy and the corps’ new Visual Designer Ken Calhoun have finalized plans for this year’s program, entitled They’re Playing Our Song. The storyboard features a “characterized” program presenting the life of a couple who meet in college and grow old together, opening with the vocal standard Moon River and They’re Playing Our Song, Assassin’s Tango (from the 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and Arturo Sandoval’s A Mis Abuelos as the production feature, Lee Ann Womack’s hit title track ballad I Hope you Dance, and the closer, the Stray Cat’s classic Rock This Town.
Music City Legend has distinguished itself as a “crowd pleaser” by developing an original, family-friendly musical and visual entertainment package each season to compete against similar, often more established, groups from around the country. Members of the corps range in age from “mid-teen to middle age” and come from across Tennessee and several nearby states.
