No Amplification At DCE Certified Shows In 2008 Print
Written by Drum Corps Europe press release
Monday, 25 February 2008

Amplification will not be allowed at DCE certified shows for the 2008 season. Jubal Drum & Bugle Corps submitted a proposal to allow the use of electronic amplification for pit instruments. The majority of the corps who gave their opinion on the proposal do not support it.

Drum Corps Europe asked all corps due to participate in at least one DCE certified show in 2008 for their views on Jubal's proposal to allow pit amplification in 2008. Twelve corps sent their advice to DCE, with seven opposing the proposal and five supporting it. Therefore DCE decided not to allow pit amplification.

Drum Corps Europe wants to introduce a new system that allows corps to have a say in the rules and regulations of the DCE Competition Manual. Jubal contacted DCE about their idea for amplification, and DCE decided to make this a 'pilot' for the new system. The pilot will now be evaluated towards a structural system allowing corps to have a voice in changes in the rules & regulations.
