With the 2008 Drum Corps International World Championships Open Class Quarterfinals being held in Michigan City, Aug. 4 and 5, sponsors are needed to help present the local events, said event chairman Mike Pease. Michigan City is hosting the opening ceremonies Monday, Aug. 4, at the Ames Field Fountain, and the Open Class Quarterfinals Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Ames Field. The event will bring 25 corps from around the world to compete here, Pease said. The top 17 corps advance to Indiana University's Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Ind., later in the week.
