Although the Empire Statesmen drum and bugle corps celebrates its 25th anniversary this year without its founder, Vince Bruni, it will mark the milestone with the same passion he brought to the group. Mr. Bruni, whose spirit inspired musicians for two decades, died on the eve of the Drum Corps Associates Labor Day weekend championship tournament in 2003.
