In The News: Kavaliers Invited To Normandy Print

Local talent has been invited overseas to perform in a ceremony to honour a key piece of Canadian and world history next year.

The Kawartha Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps will be the guest Canadian band at the 65th anniversary of D-Day at the Juno Beach Centre in Normandy next June, the organization stated in a press release issued Thursday.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to teach our members some very important history and to have them take part, with the veterans, in the various services, parades and laying of wreaths in the area," stated project chair John O'Reilly.
