DCA President, Gil Silva, has announced the appointment of Allen Buell to be the Director of Operations for the DCA Championships. President Silva advises that Allen has been doing a wonderful job with the Rochester Championships these past 3 seasons as local contest chairman and now will continue in this position permanently - no matter where the championship may be held.

In addition to his specific duties Championship Weekend, it will be his duty to market our DCA Championship to various communities, assist, solicit and encourage Championship bids as well as working closely with Dick Eschenmann, DCA Business Manager and Championship Contest Chairman. Allen is well known in drum corps and color guard circles. He has performed with several upstate New York corps and color guards, has been a successful color guard instructor, past president of the Northeast Color Guard Circuit and is a visual judge for New York Federation of Contest Judges and Winter Guard International. He is the long time business manager of the Empire Statesmen and will continue in that position for the 2009 season at which time he will conclude his tenure with the corps and come on board the DCA Staff full time in the new position.

Anyone wishing further information on bidding on the DCA Championship should contact Allen at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Bids for the 2010/2011 DCA Championship are actively being solicited and should be submitted by January 15, 2009. Allen resides in Rochester, NY where he is director of events for the George Eastman House and the International Museum of Photography housed there.
