In The News: Scores Improve Over First Five Shows Print

The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps has wowed crowds thus far in New Mexico, Arizona and California as its "Western Side Story" competitive season enters its second week. And the judges seem to like what they see as well, as they use an intricate scoring system that includes general effect, visual and music broken into many subcategories.

"The crowd was on their feet for the Troopers. Things went very well. The show is solid, and it moves people. We are right where we want to be, and the kids are doing great," said Fred Morris, corps director after the Rio Rancho, N.M., show.
