The last night he marched with the Madison Scouts, he played soprano bugle. He was 13. The year was 1938. Richard is an original Madison Scouts member. He'll be in the honor guard as the Scouts Reunion Corps appears at the Drum Corps International championships at Camp Randall Stadium on Aug. 10.
