The Rochester Crusaders are pleased to announce their staff and repertoire for the 2010 competitive season.Beginning with their Open House on November 29th, the Crusaders celebrate its 64th year by bringing drum corps fans another great program entitled “An Immigrants Tale.” Using solely the music of Aaron Copland – one of the first truly American composers – the Crusaders will weave a tale of immigrants' families and their journeys from their arrival on America's shores through their journey westward as they chase the American Dream. The show begins with “Fanfare for the Common Man,” indicative of the hopes and dreams the new immigrants possessed. As the families journey westward along the frontier the corps explores Copland's “Outdoor Overture.” In the homestead, happiness was often found in the simplest of things; this theme is developed through Copland's “The Tender Land – The Promise of Living.” With the American Dream realized, the Crusaders find their own realization of happiness in “The Happy Ending” from the “Red Pony Suite.” Staff: Program Coordinator: Mike Linton Brass Arranger: Joe Organisciak Brass Team: Joe Organisciak, Zach Allyn, Matt Jaeger Brass Consultant: Gene O'Brien Percussion Arranger: David Pasquarella Battery Coordinator: Orion Wilkerson Front Ensemble Team: Caleb DeGroote, Irene Fiesinger Guard Coordinator: Jessica Czachowski Guard Team: Missy Wozniak, Kelsey Soeffing Visual Coordinator: Ron Abate Visual Team: Ron Abate, Mike Linton, Brad Coudriet If you would like to join us this coming season, please contact our Recruiting Director, Caleb DeGroote at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or visit our website at www.rochestercrusaders.org. |
