Everything but "some old drum corps photos"

Great article, thanks for the link, Linda P. The Edmonton Journal always did have good coverage on what we were up to, and where. I had to dry my eyes a bit after reading this though.

Hi DL. Hope you're well. The Journal was good to us then and now. Pat and Bob gave us the heads up 2 days before the article. It has comments, poignant comments. Brenda asked me not to post AAG photos but I'll post one of 72 or 73, a performance for those that served and for their families.

From my 1977 travel log > August 25 traveled from Bonn to Frankfurt to Baden-Baden (Bad Soellingen) by 9 pm with a stop at the Embassy to pick up a Univers bus - August 26 at Soellingen Canadian Armed Forces Base, breakfast 7:30 am, practice 10-noon and 1-3, Pam and I on Radio CFNS, comp. guard practice 10-11 pm - August 27 from Soellingen to Baden-Baden, toured Black Forest, back to base for lunch, performed at casino 2 pm and the ballroom at 7:30 pm, Pam and I went to Barbarino Bar with Jeff (SCV), Tim (Kentucky) and Dan (Virginia) - August 28 left for Paris, arrived late evening and stayed in a hostel - August 29 up early, communal bathroom at the hostel, left Paris for Le Havre, arrived 4:30 pm and boarded Saint Patrick ferry (ship) for a 12 hour sail to Ireland

We had a great tour in 77 DL. We did good!

Glassmen 1975 Staff Announcement

IMG_zps7ef58603.jpg

By chance while walking down the halls at the University of Toledo wearing my Glassmen jacket, someone called out "Hey Glassmen", it was Joe Thomas who became our brass instructor that year. Joe, who worked with or marched Blue Rock, was doing his PHD work. IRC on infant response to visual stimulation or something like that. He was a nice guy. The corps did not field for the next few years after 75. I never knew what became of him.

Now you know what became of him. You've inspired me to read my Scarborough Firefighters drum and bugle corps newsletters 1969-1971 and revisit my scrapbook. It's time I do. Thank you

Part of our winter guard evaluation program January 13 1980 with a brief history of pageantry and an explanation of winter guard. Richard usually wrote and I usually typed but Kim may have typed in 1980, the year I took a rest to avoid volunteer burnout
