PINK FLOYD

Recommended Posts

Really? After all this time, NOBODY has thought to probe what is arguably the most significant rock band of all time????

As John Lennon once said: "After all....we're all just flollowing Pink Floyd..."

Show designers, do I have to spell it out in CRAYON......?????

Just saying.....

:-)

It's certainly been done a million times in the marching band world. Maybe designers are tired of it?

'Pink isn't well; he stayed back at the hotel; so they sent as along as a surrogate band [corps?]; we're gonna find out where you fans really stand'

Dark Side of the Moon (Best Album EVER) might work, along with parts of Animals and Ummagumma.

Actually, never mind, I just had a momentary lapse of reason.

I think a show of Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Dire Straits and The Police would be AWESOME.

An Allman Bros show would certainly be a crowd pleaser!

I've always thought Moody Blues' "In Search of the Lost Chord" (side 2) would make for a spectacular DC production.

Some of the DCA corps have put on some great rock'n'roll shows.

In 1996, Westerville South H.S. from Westerville, OH did a fantastic show based on "The Wall" and made BOA Finals. I believe their show was arranged by Michael Klesch. You might be able to track it down online somewhere.

Any Pink Floyd show should have this as an audio sampling:

"If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you

have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?"

Or it isn't a Pink Floyd show.

Some DCA Floyd:

'98 Conquistadors- (Symphonic Floyd - Us and Them) Time, Money, Us and Them, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall

'04 Renegades- Goodbye Blue Sky

'05 Heat Wave- Time

'11 Govies will be playing "Money"

'11 Renegades will be playing "Wishing You Were Here" and "Comfortably Numb"

1992 and 1996 Cal State University Northridge marching band did "The Wall". There were quite a few Velvet Knights and Freelancers in those bands.
