Sort of, but, not really. SCV played "Bottle Dance" in '72 and the flag line did an up and down kneely sort of thing, but the rifles did not. The rifle line did the literal "Bottle Dance" for the first time in '73. Just keeping history straight here.

Oh, and thanks DCI for giving the "Ladies" of Drum Corps their moment to shine.

Thank you for the correction. I mistook the video. In that case, I'll say that it's SCV '73 doing the Bottle Dance (can't think of any other Finals performances with the sun up after that.)

I won't hear back until the creator gets back from vacation.

Oh, I thought you went ahead and got the info before he left. No worries.

Wow! Images from my youth of a past era. A listing of years would be interesting. Seems like yesterday, but I know otherwise! :satisfied:

I tried, but I suspect he was beyond swamped while trying to get out the door, getting features prepared for while he was gone. I'll try again when he's back.

IMHO, Jeff is a magnificent addition to the DCI staff. He's got that special touch to create something truly special out of what could be a haphazard collection of clips, and he's gifted in finding the perfect clips for such projects. I've admired his work ever since he's come on board.

As I tell myself, it was yesterday...it's just that a lot has happened overnight.

What suggestions might any of you have for future potential compilations?

Might there be enough tape/pictures to put together a "bloopers" segment? Not only corps, but judges also.

There probably would be, but I don't think we would want to "immortalize" the occasional misstep that befalls all humans when it happens in the public eye. I know if I was caught on video had something bad happened to me while I was performing in the show of my life, I wouldn't want to be reminded of it years later. It might make me bitter and turn me into a social outcast.

Oh, wait...

But what if we put it to a soundtrack of "Yakkity Sax?" Would that make it better for everyone? Or we could add old sketch comedy sound effects to them?

Don't make me put on my "I hate PC" ball cap!

Or a "Corps Directors/Staff Gone Wild" edition with Dave St. Angel on the cover!
