garfield Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 (edited) Went live today on Youtube. Here's the link to the DCI.org story: http://www.dci.org/n...3f-d3314849ec39 What do you think? Edited May 19, 2012 by garfield Quote
MsBusDriver Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 (edited) I like it. Great clips of Corps. The tune gets a little redundant, but all in all, what a great promo for Drum Corps! Maybe our little family will grow a bit when more and more people see this. Nice job, DCI and Shaun. Edited May 19, 2012 by MsBusDriver 1 Quote

kickhaltsforlife Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Should I know who Shaun canon is? That's what I said... I've been so out of the loop with popular music though... probably because I hate all of it. Haha 2 Quote

SynthLine09 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I think its an incredibly lame video. And from someone who frequents top 40 radio at least once a week, I've never heard of this guy 5 Quote
blazek Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Ohhh brother! more top 40 shlock. Seriously leave it as a niche activity! I think it's less about advertising DCI and more about promoting music as a whole. (the rest of this comment is not directed at anyone) Let's face it, music education as a whole is diminishing. In 50 years, if the current trends in music continue unchanged, orchestras will dissolve, nearly all music programs will be cut, and Drum Corps as we know it today will literally cease to exist. Whether we like it not, the future of art music is at stake. Personally, I'm glad to see this collaboration, because it shows that some people with at least some influence in the musical world actually do care about the future of music and the future of this activity. Sure, maybe the video isn't perfect and it may be a bit cheesy, but taking ourselves too seriously isn't going to help our cause or make anyone interested in picking up an instrument. Why do we perform? Because there is no other feeling like it, and that rush from performing is #### fun. Yay, band. 2 Quote

And I couldn't help but smile wide at the solo violinist on the field - her expressions were contagious. Quote
