A long, long time ago, the corps I marched in folded the night we were supposed to leave our hometown for DCI Finals. We had no time to react, no time to do anything but deal with it (and pile in a pick up truck to go to DCI to watch anyway!). There's not really any way to describe how bad it sucks to work that hard and get it all pulled out from under you.
I sincerely hope that other corps will offer the members of Teal Sound (especially age-outs!) the opportunity to fill empty spots. They have the time that we didn't have to finish their summer on the field...and those empty spots would be much better off with a person in them!
Other Corps please fill spots with Teal Sound members!

i remember that night well ginger! That night sucked. Wish i had my soprano from that year.
Teal members call any of the corps you would like to see if they have spots. There have been several holes in a lot of corps.

I know Cascades and Pioneer have need for more horns, but have they already written the drill down to the number they have. Taking more bodies would then rquire major rewrites of drill. Can they handle something like that?
I hope they can, as well as all the other corps who have a few spots open here and there. I know the drumline probably won't be able to find a home, but maybe a good number of horns and guard can.

This process is already well under way.
Most age outs who want a spot will get one..... somewhere.

I know Glassmen had a few holes left. A chance to tour with a great group of people and compete for finals. I'm sure all of the corps are already working on getting those members spots. I hope for the best for everyone!
My login probably should read IplayEDtimpani. I had a nice long drum corps life. Someday I want to be a mercenary for DCA. For now, I volunteer and find myself around the activity as much as possible.

I remember that night very well myself. I am sorry to hear the news about Teal Sound, and I agree wholeheartedly with your post, Ginger. I also remember riding in that pickup truck with the camper top!

As Revolution's Drill Writer, I can tell you we have approximately 4 Brass spots available, they are in the trumpet and mello sections.
We do already have a tentative Baritone member for our last low brass hole, but we're happy to talk to any low brass musicians to discuss other opportunities as well.
(Trumpets are a lot lighter than tubas) ;)
We have spoken with several Teal Members directly, and are working hard to ensure they get to complete their season either with our ensemble or someone else's.
There is also discussion about sending a van or some sort of transport to bring a group of members so they don't have to feel like a "loner" coming in to the new group.
I told the director this morning that I will re-write the drill if I have to.
We're already 90% full of our original instrumentation of 32Br/20G/14Bat/10P...
GIVE ME A REASON TO WRITE MORE DOTS!!!!
But if you're a Teal Sound or Racine Scouts member, we would be happy to welcome you with open arms.
Please don't hesitate to contact either myself, or the corps administration directly
I'm also the guy working on building the new website, so please be kind about it's sparse nature at this stage of the game.
Teaching the members is higher on the priority list ;)
Come finish your summer!!
