Are Velvet Knights still planning to travel east and participate in Championships?
Haven't seen any formal announcement, but the website has a message that seems to indicate the season is over and there is nothing listed on the calendar beyond the Bellflower show.
Anyone know status of VK?

Strange...because DCI schedule has them going to Indy, along with several shows en-route.

DCI schedule also still includes Teal Sound and Racine Scouts in shows for the rest of the season that have not had the list of corps changed to a performance order list.

VK will not be in Indy this year. My understanding is that the decision was made with the long-term future of the corps in mind (i.e., they weren't going to push things beyond their means).

According to their schedule, they had 5 shows this year. Does anyone know if that is correct?
That is A LOT of work (and fees) for only 5 shows!! That is less shows than some DCA Corps, right?
Hope they aren't having money problems! Maybe it is time some of the Southern California corps combine?

You guys have to remember there is more to drum corps than shows are far performing goes. For all we know, they did parades, concerts and exhibitions

To me, this depends on what the members paid in dues. If very little was paid in dues by the members then 5 shows, a few parades, and a few exhibitions are fine. However, if a considerable amount in dues was required then only 5 contest shows would be, to me, a rip-off.

5 shows is actually above the average amount of shows DCA corps perform in (outside of those in the northeast).

They're a DCI Open Class corps that chose not to tour themselves into oblivion.
You can't bemoan the state of Teal Sound and then come down on another corps for NOT doing a Teal Sound...or would you rather lose them??
