flammaster Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I thought watching semi's on FN in my room was much better than any theater! No HS kids to tell shut up to and a great sound system on vintage speakers! Quote
perc2100 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I live in Cincinnati, and every year I do Quarters in the theater, then drive up to Indy for semis and finals. I could do all 3 shows in the Oil Can, but I actually like the theater experience on Thursday. You sometimes get some interesting stories in the theater broadcast that you wouldn't see live in the stadium. I almost consider it like sitting in 3 different seats...theater on Thursday, up high on Friday, and down low on Saturday. Of course, I have been to every quarter finals broadcast in the theater so some of my reasoning is that I want to keep my streak alive. I've enjoyed the improvements made in the broadcast, and its gotten to the point that I actually look forward to hearing Rondinaro, Delucia, Pitts, etc. and I'm always excited to see what Tom Blair and company are going to bring to the table. Z That's an interesting perspective. I would imagine it would also work conversely, where you see specific close-ups and angles in the theater and then get a broader view of the show live, seeing more stuff. Quote

I have a party with friends (most of whom are drum corps alumni), and have a good ol' time. I've gone to the theaters once for Prelims and it was OK, but IMO not the best 'hybrid' between seeing in live and seeing it at home. I feel like streaming it at home on my entertainment center is closer to being there live than the theater experience is. Quote
