lindap
This is my second DCP thread ever. The first was about drumline history. This is Music for Guards - should could would do! There's a difference between warm up music and performance music. Some music can be played and some have copyright rules oh my! Personally, I listened to more music in winter guard than when I was in drum corps. At every guard rehearsal we asked members to bring their favs. One of mine was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSAJ0l4OBHM What was your favourite (favorite ;) music? Have fun SVP
SpartanGuard
I made a tumblr for this once but it never got very far (http://awesome-guard-music.tumblr.com/). It's almost overwhelming how much great music there is out there.

Music moves us. Another thread said we can't 'Say Something' on CGP. I agree. I'm not comfortable here because of the moderator. We're visual! I like Candide also known as Candie. Guessing I'll be banned from CGP from now on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhIgbTeGn0I
skajerk
When we design the shows for our guard, I purposely steer my wife towards unusual or older music simply because I don't want to copy or be copied by another group. I can't tell you how many times I heard "The Cave" the last three seasons! This year our show was called "Warrior". We started off with a haka that went directly into a song by Vanessa-Mae called "Emerald Tiger". The crowd seemed to eat it up.

I like Bin Huang and Li-Shan Hung. Perhaps Natalie MacMaster Celtic music too? I'm a fan of Loreena McKennitt. What is cool about overture music is that it's usually the same amount of time as a guard show, 6 minutes or so ;)
