I was not there last year, but MANY times before. Then again, who pays any attention to the announcer, anyway? I was with the Westshoremen Alumni corps, in the pit ensemble... as I've been since 2005, with a few years off due to the family health situation. We were outside, unloading our pit equipment off the truck... from where we were, you could hear the emcee talking inside the auditorium... and no fewer than three people came by and asked me if I was working the show that night.
