So it was recently announced that Boston's 2014 program is entitled "Animal Farm".

Thoughts?

Predictions?

I think that this show could be very interesting, especially with those new uni's.

Seems like a good concept for them; I'm looking forward to seeing the show!

For those who aren't familiar with Animal Farm (like me), can someone give me and other's who aren't familiar a quick synopsis.

Well the story of Animal Farm is supposed to reflect the events of the Russian Revolution from 1917 and the time when Stalin was in charge of Russia. Just replace the characters with farm animals and remove the explicit material and boom, you got Animal Farm.

It's an indictment of Communism. There are characters representing Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, and a host of other prominent figures. Pretty much that the animals on the farm claim to be equal, but certain animals rise up in a class system, where "everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others."

Here's the animated 1954 version most people watched. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KVLw33ZYsE

I'm wondering what kind of music they will use. ....If I didn't know what Animal Farm was I would think it a comedy about animals, using light hearted and upbeat music . In reality it's an extremely dark satiric story about politics, murder, slavery, and betrayal. I would think much of the material would feature a bottom heavy low brass sound.......though I may be wrong.

I've heard BAC might have one of the best bari lines this year. The music might allow the bari's to shine.

Last summer was my first time ever seeing them live which was at finals and they were great but I wanted more power in their brass.I hope they get more recognition this year....BAC been around so long I'd love to see them in the top 6 **again**
