Same thing happened last season---inasmuch a couple captions were not adjudicated. Apparently a lack of familiarity with using DCA sheets. bill
Yeah, looking at the recap, it is a DCA sheet. But the DCI sheets for that show had an error in percussion that dropped all the DCI scores by about seven points, while Kilties have a 0.0 in Communication--is that even possible? (I can't remember how DCA's Communications is scored.) On the other hand, I see I misread last year's scores: at Madison last year on 6/29, Kilties got a 51.8. The next day at Salem was when they got a 62.1. Not that that seems easily explicable either! Last season, a couple captions were missed being judged at the Madison show. Spandy
Govies pull into second place in Class A with a 64.80 tonight in Rochester MN. They and Minnesota Brass will also receive scores tomorrow night in Mankato.
TomPeashey
I too saw the zero in the DCA recap for kilties on the DCI website... either the score was wrong or someone messed up... the score adds with all the numbers shown... so I'm going to say that the final number should have been several points higher... NO... if they're on the field, they deserve more than zero on the communications sheet

Last year at DOP, the Kilts score was less the adjudication of two captions, an oversight; and the 2013 DOP show had the small panel The next evening (6-30-13) in Salem, WI all captions were judged, again with a small panel, and the Kilts had a 68. A week later in Whitewater, the Kilts had a 62 plus change with all captions being judged but with a full panel of judges. At the 2014 DOP the Kilts were judged with a full panel of judges, but there was an no communication score.....apparently an oversight. In short, all this information and 62 cents still only gets a senior cup of coffee at the local McDonalds. About the only benefit a corps receives from DCI shows is the evaluation from the judges on their show itself and any improvements that can be made from the tapes and or the sheets. That and the satisfaction of performing for the few dozens of fans that are there that early. It's just a number.

bill
sounds like some tom foolery going on. just sayin. Sometimes scores fluctuate with a small panel (4 judges) vrs full panel (9 judges) The oversight in not assigning numbers/judging the visual and music communication captions.........well, as mentioned--an unfortunate oversight. camel lips
DOP was jam-packed from before the SSB....always a great crowd. Feel blessed! We have never seen that sort of support down here in the south. The MTSU show and the Georgia DOME show has seen little fan activity that early in the day/evening. The Georgia Dome may have had a couple of hundred milling around but largely the stadium looked empty.
