Or is it just the placement of the mics that capture the sound? I haven't seen the show live, but I think you're right. I don't remember which FN recording it was, but the amped content of all corps was softer while the pit seemed on the loud side. I, for one, am very excited about their innovation and the crowd reactions to it. The crowd reaction reminds me a little of Regiment’s 2008 implementation of the drum major kill. Obviously completely different avenues to achieve a great reaction.
