wesleyrp
With the incredible talent on the field this summer scores are very high and should be. My question is what we tend to ask yearly... How many break 90, and how many end above 90? I'd say 9 corps break 90, and 8 finish at finals above 90. That said I wouldn't be surprised to see ten corps surpass 90 by the end, maybe not at finals though. My guess is BK, Phantom and likely Boston along with the top 6 all eclipse the 90 barrier and then whoever the top 8 is out of that stays above finals night. IllianaLancerContra
Too many Here is why I say that - several facts In reality the current sheets, at the end of the season (based on last season's scores), the lowest score will be in the 70 range. Last year, 35 percent of the world class corps (9 of 25 or so) scored in the top 10 percent of scores possible (above 90). It gets waay too crowded at the top under the current paradigm In order to spread things out, and leave room at the top, perhaps shifting the low end of the sheets so the lower level World-class corps start the season in the low - mid 30s, that way corps could improve all season, with room above 90 for the 3-4 corps that are truly in the top 10 percent in the world Flame shields up Edited July 21, 2014 by IllianaLancerContra
ShouldveMarchedAgeOut
I'd say 8. Maybe 9. But to me that depends on if BAC can clean their show up enough.

Due to a historical quirk, the highest-scoring fifth-place show (2009: 5. Santa Clara Vanguard "Ballet for Martha" 95.650) does not appear above. This is because the highest-scoring sixth-place show scored very high indeed. You may be wondering which years do not appear above. Those are 1986-87, 1990, 1993-96, 2000, 2006, and 2012. Corrections are most welcome!

Wow. How long did that take? A few points/observations Yes scores jumped big-time from 83 to 84 - 84 was the first year without ticks. Draw conclusions as you see fit. And also, if 35% of the 51 of what are now called 'World Class' corps from, say 1984 (30 years ago) broke 90 (like last year), there would be 17 corps breaking 90 (and 5 of them would not make finals). Again, methinks the score sheets need to be rethought, although in a way they have been as now scores go to 3 decimal places. I suppose that could go on indefinitely. Maybe at some point in the future there will be only 1/10th point between first & twelfth...
Cleveland1
the G7 plus BK definitely. Maybe BAC as well. 2012 BAC had above an 81 at San Antonio and just missed 90 at finals. 2013 BAC had above an 80 at San Antonio and barely finished above 90 at finals (what a rise!) 2014 BAC got an 82.45 at San Antonio. I think they have enough oomph to get themselves above 90 considering this is the smallest gap theyve had to deal with. It is not like the Blue Stars or Madison could not also break 90, it just seems like a long shot to have 11 finalists above 90.
mcjordansc
I will say the top eight will break 90. I doubt any others because that would be too much of a bunch in scores finals night.
