Brigand Posted August 30, 2014 Share Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) If anyone is thinking of walking from hotels in downtown Rochester to the stadium, DO NOT follow the map provided by VisitRochester, which I picked up at the front desk of my hotel. The stadium, which is only about a mile away, is outside the area shown on the map, but an arrow directs visitors to continue along N. Plymouth Ave. past Frontier Field (the baseball park). If you do, in about five blocks you'll find you've gone from a fairly safe-feeling downtown to a fairly seedy neighborhood (or so Lyell Ave. seemed to me after dark), and quickly past Sahlen's Stadium without ever seeing it (at least, that's how it worked out at night: it didn't help that, per DCA's webpage, I thought there was a soccer game there this evening, but there wasn't, so the lights were all dark).
