Blue Devils are slowly conquering the entire marching world...

It's funny but the Riverside show is basically now the unofficial BD home show. They have been linked unofficially but now it's official. They also get a lot of guard members from James Logan World Guard. Downey is the arranger for the RCC Marching Band. And other staff on BD is also on the RCC staff.

Congratulations to both the Blue Devils and Riverside Community College. Those two have been "shacking up" for some time, it's nice to see them make it official.

Actually this is something that is missing in the activity; partnerships between the academic performing arts world, which provide the full programs including music theory, etc. for nine months out of the year, and drum corps, which provides a professional tour experience in a condensed show format appropriate for education purposes during the other three months.

What about other partnerships with top schools? Which corps would make good partnerships with Juilliard, Southern Methodist, Boston College, Princeton, etc. In dance there are Skidmore, Juilliard (again), Rutgers, Oberlin. Boston College should list BAC as a summer partner program.

DCI, more of this, please.

I figured this thread was about some BD partnership, but still chuckled at the title because the best marching band (by far) at the contest I attended last weekend was named the "Blue Devils".

They weren't a part of them already? I thought they pretty much were, with most of BD's staff teaching or designing there, and a bunch of their members passing through RCC. Guess the only change now is the label.
