Mike, I'm curious about 1966 St. Lucy's and not their 1968 corps, the year they owned the Dream and won Am. Legion Nat's., and most of the rest.

Mike, I'm curious about 1966 St. Lucy's and not their 1968 corps, the year they owned the Dream and won Am. Legion Nat's., and most of the rest.

I recall them having a great jazzy show that year..."Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone", "On a Wonderful Day Like Today", "My Heart Belongs to Daddy"...I was 12 1/2 that summer and they really impressed me at that age. I have a record of them that year, so that keeps the 66 memory alive. Funny...on my record the DM started the concert number without bringing up the horns, so all you heard were isolate beeps and boops of a few horn players. Then they regrouped and started over. :tounge2: I found out years later when asking a Lucy's alum what had happened. it was at one of the NJ States in Wildwood.

69 was great to...esp the "El Conquistador" opener with Manny's opening solo fanfare. I could also have included 69 BAC on the short list...loved their show that year, esp with the bells (so sad they could not use them at VFW Nats in Philly - the first Nats I ever saw, as an audience member).
