xandandl
Back in the '80s, during the time Leonard Bernstein was conducting a summer series at Tanglewood, now deceased Dave Welch, often called "Primo" was a graduate student at Tanglewood's summer school. He was also a Cadet alum who had played mellophone. He arranged with Leonard Bernstein to view and hear the corps in person in Lenox, Mass. where the corps often stayed down the road from Tanglewood especially for the Pittsfield contests. However, a last minute transportation and scheduling glitch complicated the corps' itinerary that day and Hopkins cancelled at the eleventh hour. Just imagine if it had actually played out. Kudos to the Boston Crusaders for making this opportunity a reality this summer '15. That those other guys will be there too is another feather in the plume.
