Florida Sun Posted December 12, 2014 Share Posted December 12, 2014 Former Director Al Beck of Sunrisers has Passed away on December 5th.2014 ,Al was director of Sun in the 60s and helped lead the corps to state and National titles ,New Orleans 1968 American Legion National Champions .It was a great pleasure to have know him and marched Sunrisers under his leadership .Al and his family where all great Sunrisers Fans .He retired to Gainsville Florida ,in 1982 but always made DCA championships every year .Al from all that knew you .you will be Missed ,but god has other plans for you in that BIG DRUM CORPS in the Heavens Above .God Bless and rest in peace . 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rayfallon Posted December 13, 2014 Share Posted December 13, 2014 I don't feel as much sadness at Al's passing as I do awe - he lived as full a life as a person could hope to live. Condolences to Al's family, but just a celebration of a man living full out for 9 decades. Pretty much the best a person can hope to achieve.
