Ghost
Don't know if these will come through or get deleted after awhile. My number on sound Cloud is 929128675 https://soundcloud.com/user929128675/tracks You might type in 65VFW and get them. Just did it tonight, so it's supposed to be free for up to three hours, but I saw a notice of one hour left. ???

ironlips
Due to the efforts of Glenn Kubacki, Fleetwood Sounds released these tracks on CD a couple of years ago. The '65 VFW was the most significant drum corps event of its time and represented the high water mark in the history of the activity. Northern Thunder
I have a set of '65 VFW recordings that Dale Johnson did. He recorded dozens of Midwestern shows in the 1960s-1980s.

If only a video of any of the corps shows up in our life time. What an experience that "contest" was.
ajlisko
... I have a set of '65 VFW recordings that Dale Johnson did. He recorded dozens of Midwestern shows in the 1960s-1980s. Those are the "tapes" (yes, cassette tape) that I bought from Dale directly ... I'm not sure if Fleetwood was at McCormick Place that night in Chicago ... Dale's recordings were top notch ... caught Tony Schlectka at his ... err ... best... slurring from corps to corps ... LOL ... 65 ... definitely one for the ages ... :-)
gsksun4
Great recordings that show. I used to play the Kilties opener, Scotland the Brave so loud, the rest of the block thought there was a festival going on. You can hear the marching and the guard captains commands. And is that Horns Up French horn section on 76 TB's? Edited March 5, 2015 by gsksun4
